Miserey-Salines castle

Old fortified house built at the end of the 15th – beginning of the 16th century with an imposing defensive tower and its three gunboats. It was modernized in the 17th century (mullioned windows and lattices) and a body of buildings housing lounges and a reception room was added in the 18th century; other work was undertaken in the 20th century under the architect Max Painchaux.
Bought in 1753 by Nicolas-Marin d’Orival, advisor to the Parliament of Franche-Comté, from Claude Antoine Girod, squire, visiting judge of the Salines de Salins, the castle has remained in the same family ever since.
The Chapel of Saints Férréol and Ferjeux (located behind the village cemetery): in 1854, during a cholera epidemic, the village having been spared, Father Guillemette decided to build a chapel in gratitude for the protection granted by the saints Férréol and Ferjeux. Pierre Marnotte, renowned architect from Besançon, will provide the plans for this chapel.
